Billing Dispute

Hello Xfinity Billing and Fraud Resolution Team,

I am writing to formally dispute an outstanding charge of $53.18 associated with what appears to be an unauthorized duplicate Xfinity account created during my October 1, 2026 visit to the Xfinity authorized retailer in [EDITED: PI].

During that visit, an additional account was created using my alternate email address, [EDIT: Personal Information], without my understanding or authorization that a separate account was being established.

The duplicate account was subsequently identified by representatives at the Xfinity corporate store in Woodbury. On October 18, an Xfinity billing representative discovered that the account was still active despite an earlier cancellation request. He arranged for its immediate closure and submitted the circumstances for an internal fraud investigation.

On October 26, I received an email at my work address titled “Pay your bill to avoid losing service,” stating that I owed $53.18 and warning of possible service interruption on November 10, 2026.

On October 31, 2026, I visited the Woodbury Xfinity corporate store in person to return my canceled cable television equipment and investigate this charge. The representative was unable to identify what the $53.18 charge was for, which account had generated it, or whether it was legitimate. I was advised to ignore the notice, but given the threatened service interruption, I do not consider that a satisfactory resolution.

I am requesting:

  1. Identification of the account number associated with the $53.18 charge and a complete itemized explanation of the balance.

  2. Confirmation that the unauthorized duplicate account and any associated additional mobile line have been permanently closed.

  3. Reversal of all charges attributable to services or accounts I did not knowingly authorize.

  4. Written confirmation that the disputed balance will not result in service interruption, collection activity, or adverse credit reporting.

  5. Confirmation that my legitimate Xfinity internet and mobile accounts remain active and unaffected.

  6. The reference number and current status of the internal fraud investigation initiated on October 18, along with information about how I can receive follow-up.

Please treat this correspondence as a formal billing dispute and preserve the relevant account records, October 1 transactions, device and mobile-line activation records, and subsequent cancellation history.

I would appreciate a written response confirming receipt of this dispute and explaining the steps being taken to resolve it.

Thank you, [EDITED: PI]
