billing after cancelation

I canceled my service effective Dec 24 2024. I am now being billed for service from January 4 - Feb 3 2025. I tried chatting with an agent but received:

"I'm sorry, I'm having trouble accessing your billing details. You can manage your bill in My Account or try again here later."

I then tried calling, but the phone robot refused to connect me to a human, and advised I should chat with an agent online.
Please help?

Look at the date on the bill.  It probably shows that it was generated before you called to cancel your account. 

You will probably receive another bill with any prorated charges.  And, if you were in a contract and canceled before the contract was up, you might receive a bill for termination fees.

Bill date Jan 1. Not under contract, charges are for regular service.

Same issue for me. Canceled effective 12 December and got January bill as well. This is not rocket science. Every other utility provider was able to bill for pro-rated usage within days of cancellation.

Thanks for reaching out to us I do apologize for any inconvenience your experiencing and if our billing process was not explained correctly. Since we bill a month in advance and depending on when your actual billing date is. You most likely were already billed for those dates of January 4 - Feb 3 2025.

 

Generally within two weeks of when you disconnected your account you will see receive a final readjusted letter that shows you're only billed for the dates of Dec 4 – Dec 24th. This link https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/refunds-from-xfinity  has great information on what you can expect when you cancel your services and if xfinity owes you refund.
