Billed after cancellation

I have still been billed after receiving an email confirming cancellation. I have already disconnected the modem and it is not in use. I was under the impression that the last bill cycle before cancellation would be my last to pay on, but now I am being charged for days past the service end date. How can I get this bill refunded as well as make sure my service is cancelled?

Hello, @user_vtf15f thank you for taking time to reach out over Xfinity Forums. If I received a bill after cancelling service I'd be reaching out as well to see what is happening. From experience, I know it can take up to 10 days for the cancellation to complete, and then the billing is prorated back to the requested date of cancellation. Based on billing cycles, a bill may generate before the disconnection had processed, but again should be back dated with prorated credits for service not used.

- When did you request the disconnection of the account?

- Are there any prorated credits on the bill you received, or is it a full billing cycle?

@XfinityJustinC I believe my plan was set to end at the end of my lease when I signed up. For context, I am a student and joined Xfinity as part of a student promotion. I automatically received a cancellation email on August 29, stating my last day of service would be September 12.

The bill was the same as any other bill we received for the full month.

@user_vtf15f that is very helpful to know. If the last day of service is 9/12 the account would still be open, and we bill a month in advance and like I had mentioned in previous reply a prorated credit would be applied to the final statement for days you wouldn't be using.

I'd be happy to review the account to confirm the disconnection is set up for the 12th and can check on what the final billing would look like. Since I'll need to gather some information that we don't want in our public conversation. Could you please send our team a direct message with your full name and full address?
