Bill is too high and its Outrageous!

My bill it way too high and my plan of the past two years will be up this month Sept 30th 2022.  The plans now look even higher!!! I already qualified for the $30 off internet for the next few years and still my bill is $172. This includes Netflix, $15+ and I  pay $15 for HBOMax and Showtime is included with that. This has the 185 channels I watch a handful of, which is ludicrous. I pay outside this monster of costs too to get Hulu which is bundled with Disney plus. Id like AppleTv and had that one for free for one year but its up. I have Amazon Prime TV included with all the shop cut cost benefits but OMG. I've paid for Paramount plus to watch certain things then cancel it and Starz to watch certain things then cancel. I'm a senior with low income and this merry go round of costs and individual programing is a horror show.

I agree that cable costs are very high, but let me give you one example out of my whole "spiel".  At its height The Big Bang Theory actors were paid $1 million per show.  That's a ton of money right there.  Sure, commercial advertising helped pay them, but in order to do so there would be about 5 minutes of show and 25 minutes of commercials.  And then there were the set builders and designers, the costumers, the camera folks and directors, and producers, and all that went with them, the writers that kept the show popular ,etc.  It didn't take a village to keep this show on the air, it took a large metropolitan city.  Then you had the network and all those folks that brought that show to you.  But, in order for you to watch it on cable, the network had to negotiate with Comcast to carry the show and bring it to your city and finally to your television set via a cable box that is technologically up-to-date.  So, in order for you to watch a show like that, you aren't paying a pittance like we all wish we could.  "But", you say, "there's a lot of people that subscribe to cable and watch that show!"  Kind of true.  Not everyone watches that show [I never did through its whole existence on tv, but did watch it on DVDs with a friend], but the costs are still there.  And, like the cable box, there is continuing upgraded technology able to bring you a show like that, and many others.  It's costly.  And then finally, all the people that work for Comcast that bring you all the technology and ability to watch these shows have to be paid, too.  Yeah, it's not cheap, although us seniors wish it was.

FWIW, my bill is $193.00+ for legacy internet and cable, and that really is a lot.  So, the above was just one example [and btw, Friends was just as costly as those actors also received $1 million per show!] and then multiply it by all the shows you watch and you might realize that you're getting a bargain.  You can cut the cord and subscribe to something like YouTube, Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime [my choice], but even those prices are going up.  Bring back old time radio, baseball and football on the radio, and decent music on the radio.

For Seniors on a fixed income, it's hard, I totally agree, but you have to look at the overall picture and decide do you want to be saddled by the television or do you want to save money and get involved in community again.  That's just MHO.

Hi there! This is definitely not the kind of experience we want our customers to have with us. We'll check on this right away and will do the best possible for you. Could you please send our team a direct message with your full name and full address? Our team can most definitely take a further look at this issue. To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:

-Click "Sign In" if necessary

-Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or  https://comca.st/3EqVMu7

-Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

-The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there

 - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list

 - An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

Press Enter to send it.
