Between last month and this month, bill payment page requires ack of terms but no checkbox except "store card info"

Basically every month I manually log into my account, I go to the billing/payment page, select to pay a specific amount, select Credit Card, fill in my card number, and continue to review the payment.  This is an internet only account, no cell, no tv service, just internet.

I do *NOT* want my card information stored on your site, you don't offer me discounts for any of that, so why should I let it sit there where your great security could some day let it be vulnerable to the world around? .... THIS MONTH .. I get to the "continue" button and it gives me a red line error that I must agree to the terms and conditions ..

  1. when I sign on to my account, it tells me by signing on I'm agreeing to terms and conditions and includes that I'm paying my bill, service usage terms, etc.
  2. the ONLY check box with a "terms and conditions" next to it, is for storing my card information

I DO NOT want to have my information stored.  This just started happening in the past 30 or so days as I did this exact same thing, as I have for more than 10 years, last month without an issue ...

I suspect its a glitch from some update someone made .. and they incorrectly tied the account OR have not realized people *CAN* and *SHOULD* be allowed to pay without storing card information for accounts with only internet services on them.  I get it if comcast requires it for cell service users as you could charge things through the phone number or make international calls, etc.. but this is an internet only account, and is not letting me pay my bill without checking the "store my information"

the LAST time I had this type of problem (several years ago) I just did the option for storing the card, and then tried deleting AFTER I'd made the payment ant the billing system REFUSED to allow me to remove that payment method, telling me I'd turned on auto billing etc.. which I did not ..

I need a comcast employee to escalate this issue to the web development team and looked into .. people should *NOT* be required to leave their credit card details ... even one time use numbers ... should not be required to be stored for those that have ONLY internet services on their comcast account ..

I've already tried 3 times to get the chat agent and people in on this and they keep sending me the same stupid link for making a payment, one even went so far as to tell me to take the check mark OUT of the "store my information" box before hitting continue ... which I told him YET AGAIN that doesn't work currently .. its again why I hate EVER having to deal with comcast's support .. clueless script reading stupidity.

Thank you for providing the account information. What browser are you using when submitting the payment?

Tried in Chrome and now in Firefox same error

As you can see in the screen grab below .. *BEFORE* i click the Continue button, both the "Use a different address" and the "Store this payment method." sections are black, the terms and conditions are blue as normal (because its a separate link) and the word apply is also black ..

after filling in the correct information at the top of the page (name / card / date / cvv) and then pressing continue without a checkmark in the two visible boxes, the "Please agree to the Terms & Conditions" appears, and the line that is "Store this payment ... " turns RED.

At the prior page .. I set the amount I want to pay, there's a payment date box (doesn't matter if I change the date) then Payment Method and in BOTH it has "NEW" in front of ... bank account / credit/debit card ...  eg "New bank account" or "New credit/debit card" this is the same as it was before ..

then go to the next screen after selecting the "New credit/debit card" and as I've repeatedly said.. fill in the information hit continue without either of the address or save information boxes checked and I get denied!

there is no other on screen appearance for "Terms and Conditions" except as on the same line (see screen shot) as "Store this .. "

I'm not an <Edit: language>, its not a browser fault, something on the back end is messed up .. stop telling me its me .. when its YOUR COMPANY'S SITE that's having this issue.

You want to tell me its account specific?  My account hasn't changed in more than a year? and again.. this worked LAST MONTH!

@TreborG2 I apologize for the trouble, and we don't mean to cause any additional frustration. It is quite alright if you choose not to store your card info. You can add it make the payment and remove it right after if you would prefer.

Another option is to download, and sign into our Xfinity app to make your payment as well. However, you may have to add the card as well. You can also call into our Customer Service line at 1-800-266-2278 and make your payment through the IVR. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

The last time I did the "store" option it would *NOT* let me remove it and I had to call into customer service to have them do something on the back end to remove it from my account.

WHY can't you just send this into your IT group so that THEY can get with the web developer to report this as a bug and to have it FIXED!?

I shouldn't have to agree to Terms and Service notices for the "Store this payment method" if I'm *NOT* selecting that ... if its ANOTHER Terms and Services message that needs to be Ack'd then *THAT* should have its OWN CHECKBOX!

Does that make sense or do you think its outrageous that some web glitch be allowed to force people's data to be saved?
