Being charged for equipment we never had, after canceling internet service

Hello,

I keep receiving calls and emails from Xfinity to PAY for equipment that I never had (cable box). When I opened my account, I performed a self-install for Internet and that's it. We never even had cable tv or phone service, only internet. I used my own modem and wireless router that I purchased from a retail store.

Is this an Xfinity scam for cancelling the service? It's been going on so long, it feels like harassment.

I see a lot these exact same situations posted here and on the Internet. This week we got a payment due in the mail of $114.83

Please, it's not fair to be charged for something that we never had.

Thank you.

Concern moved here to the Billing help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.
