Bad debt address blocked

Internet service blocked after setting up due to previous tenants bad debt that has the address blocked. It should be illegal to provide someone with service and charge then a bill then cancel their service because of a previous tenants debt. How can this be fixed?

Concern moved here to the Billing help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

Hello, @user_8mhiu6. I appreciate you making us aware your address has been blocked due to a bad debt the previous tenants left. Don't worry, there's a solution to this and we have a couple of ways to go about fixing this. First option would be for us to open a ticket to have our serviceability team review your information to confirm it doesn't match with the previous tenants so we can then get this block removed.

The second option would be for you to visit any Xfinity store near you and provide proof of residency. This would include the term agreement you signed, your ID, and a utility bill. They will be able to remove the block and activate your account. You may use this link to find the store near you https://www.xfinity.com/local/store-offers?q=33.42%2C-111.9128.
