Autopay Discounts

Why is there a cost difference between the auto-pay discount with a Credit/Debit card ($5) and a checking account ($10)?  With a credit / debit card I can dispute any charges I feel would be inappropriate, where as if it is taken directly our of my checking account, I have to dispute this directly with my bank. This is a deal breaker for me as I do not trust Xfinity enough to provide them a means to take money directly out of my checking account, so it prevented me from signing up for new Internet service with XFinity.
