Amount due this month, but a larger credit next month. Should I not pay this month?

I have moved and cancelled my Xfinity service as of August 22.  My current bill is for August 28 - September 27 as Xfinity bills in advance for the next month.  If I pay this current bill, Xfinity will owe me a refund for all of that bill amount, plus an additional $50.  If I don't pay my bill this month, Xfinity will just owe me the $50.  What happens if I don't pay for this current bill?

Hello @ds_64728, congratulations on your recent move, I hope you're already had a chance to start getting settled in. Thank you for making us part of your home as well, hopefully, we can make that happen again in the future. Regarding your final statement, you're right, we do bill in advance, so things will need some time to catch up with your recent disconnection. We always advise paying the balance as shown and let any credits or refunds catch up later. If you should choose not to pay, the only thing that would happen is that you have a balance due on your account reflected until the final statement is posts. Refunds are typically processed to the last payment method. Did you have any questions based on that information?
