ACP, increasing bill, [Edited], WARNING

I was warned about Xfinity's tactics to keep customers, promising low pricing but not delivering.  Being a loyal customer for over 20 years, I decided to believe Xfinity representatives and switch to their Affordable Connectivity Program even giving up my Lifeline/Safelink account to add Xfinity mobile service.  Huge mistake.  I have had nothing but misinformation from every different agent I speak with.  My bill goes up every single month and there is nothing "affordable" about it.  They will say anything to keep you as a customer then [Edited: "Inflammatory"] while you watch the bill increase with no explanation.  I am elderly, disabled, homebound, low income (SSDI) and not tech savvy at all.  Easy victim.  I depend on Xfinity for entertainment and connection to the outside world so I have internet, cable, home and cell service with Xfinity.  These past few months have been a nightmare of [Edited: "Inflammatory"] increasing bills monthly.  I was told tonight that it will go up again next month.  I have not heard the same story twice.  Every call, every agent says whatever it takes to keep you as a customer.  Shame on you, Xfinity.  You are breaking the law.  Every agent says they are taking notes yet none can be found when I call to ask for an explanation.  I will start making calls to find out what my alternatives are and how they can be set up for me but I am very distrustful given my experience with Xfinity. [Edited: "Inflammatory"].  I hope and pray that I find the help I need to have some semblance of a life connected to the rest of the world.  I will warn everyone in every way that I can to learn from my mistakes and stay away from Xfinity [Edited: "Inflammatory"].

ACP pays up to $30 on your internet bill and if there's anything left over it will pay on your mobile bill.  That is how that is supposed to work.  It doesn't pay anything toward your cable tv bill or your home phone.

Since you have a cell phone, I would suggest dropping your home phone to save a bit of money.

You don't say how you pay your bill, but you need to make sure the payment is made by the billing due date, otherwise you will receive a late charge.  Here, I suggest you look over your bill every month, not just at how much is owed each month; your billing statement will also provide notes and any information about rate increases  Probably the biggest extra charge you see on the cable portion of your bill is the Regional Sports fee and the Broadcast fee, neither of which you can actually remove unless you downgrade to the barest minimum and then you might still have the Broadcast fee.  Yes, equipment fees, taxes, and surcharges will increase from time to time.

Of course, we all wish that we could have all of this for free, but unfortunately that can't happen because there are a lot of people that work to bring us television and the most up-to-date internet and cell phone service and they need to be paid, too.  Those actresses and actors don't work for a pittance and all of the production that goes into bringing us that entertainment costs.  It's tough for us older people that don't get out as much as we used to because of disability or retirement and have limited income.  The choices we have to make basically end up distancing us even further.  So, we have to be as proactive as we can and stay as informed as we can so we can make decisions that will ultimately benefit us most.

I am going to escalate your post so that maybe someone from our corporate crew here can help you with your bill.  Good luck!
