About to be charged for not returning equipment I have no access to

I moved into my previous address with a modem and cable box already set up for me. When I moved out, the building told me to leave it for the next tenant as had been done for me by the tenant before me.

i am now being told that I was supposed to return the equipment and will be getting a several hundred dollar bill for it if not. I do not even live in the same state anymore and there is no feasible way for me to do this. Given that I was misinformed and it was not my fault, I think this policy is completely unacceptable and would like some help sorting this out ASAP.

thank you!

We are happy to investigate this and help resolve it in any way we can, @user_1x34s1. Could you please send our team a direct message to continue?

How to send us a direct message:

  1. Click "Sign In" if necessary.
  2. Click the "Direct Messaging" icon.
  3. Click the "Start new conversation" (pencil and paper) icon.
  4. In the "To:" line, type "Xfinity Support".
  5. As you type, a drop-down list will appear. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.
  6. An "Xfinity Support" graphic will replace the "To:" line.
  7. Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window.
  8. Press Enter to send it.

To expedite your request, we ask that you please include your name and the service address alongside a detailed summary of your request/question. Thank you!
