A move which cost a fortune
Recently, I moved to a new home, just 4 miles away within the same zip code. There were too many surprises and frustrations with Comcast. I am totally dissatisfied with Comcast and would like to switch to an alternative as soon as I can find one. Following are the details:
1. The technician had to come and lay a new cableto the end of the building. The service cost $100, which was never mentioned when the apppintment was made. Even the technician's paperwork did not have any such number. But the monthly bill has it.
2. I used to have recording of programs on my cable box in my old address. When moved to new, that feature stopped working. When asked, I was asked to get a DVR service which costs $10 more a month now. The customer service is confused as to what I had before and are not able to restore my previous service without the $10 overhead. I do not need all the bells and whistles of the DVR service. Just the ablity to record one program which I will see within a week. My take is that they had a bundled feature which they sneakishly removed.
3. Various other fee increases eventually led to an increase in the bill from $106 to $145. A 35% jump just because I changed my address.
4. I cannot view the older bills from the older address for comparison. Comcast trying to hide their tracks ?
