$100 Tech Visit Fee to Install Network Tap Outside

I ordered the self-install kit since I've had Xfinity Internet before. Apparently my tap was disconnected and hooked into my neighbor's box - leaving me without a tap while I had another provider. I went through the dance of getting a technician to come run a new line outside. The chat agent that set up the appointment stated that I'd only be charged the $100 fee if the technician had to do work with the inside wiring. It would be lovely if I could get a credit for Xfinity's outside line.

Greetings, @b_rob! Welcome to the Xfinity family! We are happy that you signed up for our service and would be happy to follow through on the promise with the visit. When an installation visit is set up there is always a $100 charge even if they only work outside. A credit would need to be applied after the visit to follow through on it being free as promised. 

Please send us a direct message with your full name and complete service address to “Xfinity Support”. To do so, click on the direct messaging icon located at the top right of this forums page.

Here's the detailed steps to direct message us:
• Click "Sign In" if necessary
• Click the "Direct Message” icon (upper right corner of this page)
• Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
• Type "Xfinity Support" in the to line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list
• Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
• Press Enter to send your message
