10+ Year Customer Seeking Promotional Renewal Before Scheduled Cancellation

Hello Xfinity Support,

I'm a longtime Comcast/Xfinity customer, and I'm hoping someone here can help me resolve a pricing issue before my scheduled service cancellation on November 13.

Over the years, I've been able to renew my cable and internet services at competitive promotional rates, usually by agreeing to another 12-month commitment. I've always appreciated that flexibility and would genuinely prefer to continue as a customer.

Unfortunately, my current monthly charges have increased substantially:

Cable television: $136.45

Gigabit internet: $129.00

Total: $265.45 per month before additional fees

I recently noticed that Xfinity is advertising comparable services to new customers for $90 for cable and $60 for gigabit internet, totaling $150 per month before fees.

I contacted customer service and offered to renew both services for another 12 months at those promotional rates. Unfortunately, I was told that the pricing wasn't available to me as an existing customer.

After being unable to reach an agreement, I reluctantly scheduled my services for cancellation on November 13.

I subsequently visited an Xfinity retail location, where a representative suggested that I could wait 72 hours after disconnection and potentially reopen my account as a new customer at the promotional rates.

However, I've since encountered information suggesting that Xfinity generally requires a 90-day waiting period before former customers become eligible for new-customer promotions. I'd appreciate clarification on this discrepancy before making any decisions.

I'm hoping your team can help with two questions:

Are there any loyalty, retention, or promotional offers available that would allow me to renew my existing services at or near the advertised $150 monthly package price? I'm happy to commit to another 12 months.

Is the 72-hour reactivation process described by the store representative actually a valid way to qualify for new-customer pricing, or would a 90-day waiting period apply?

I've enjoyed Xfinity's services and would prefer to remain a customer. However, the nearly $115 monthly difference between my current pricing and the advertised promotional rates is difficult to justify.

I'd sincerely appreciate someone reviewing my account and helping me find a reasonable solution before my scheduled cancellation.

Thank you for your time and assistance!
