Welcome to the new "Upcoming X1 Updates" thread. Please check here for lists of upcoming updates to the X1 product, posted by an official Comcast employee.

 

The updates here will be new customer facing features and improvements coming to the product – this does not include any of the development work to improve stability and other backend issues.

I have 1.46.04 on one DVR.  The other DVR and my two companions have not gotten it yet.  That is the way it works.  It just takes time for the new releases to propogate across the country.

I hate you....  ( you know I'm kidding )

 

I am STILL stuck on 9/08/14 releases for both the ARRIS DVR and the PACE STBs... 


I FORCE a Device RESTART each and every afternoon when I get home from work, but alas I reside in the JURASSIC PARK of Comcast Outside Plant Infrastrucure....  

 

Hopefully, a CAT3 hurricane will somehow hit Palm Beach County, thereby removing ALL Comcast equipment from the face of the planeh....   then and only then, would Comcast actually install the needed new infrastructure so that I and others in Palm Beach County could utilize to enjoy the services that is possible.... just not available to us now.....

 

As I have stated so many times in the past, I AM THE LAST to receive ANY firmware/software updates......

 

Surprising since Comcast now has its Corporate Headquarters here for "tax" purposes......

 

I feel so UN-LOVED.....  : (   : (    : (    : (

Ray only my arris has the update, which is the box that I use the least as it is so slow compared to the pace.......

BTW the update is really not an update they just changed the layout of the settings section, and added the signal level thing..

Can't help it, it's the 17 years of Being an IT Dept Head  rearing its ugly head!!!

 

So glad I was asked to head up a new SECURITY PROGRAMS dept now... what a refreshing change of pace ( UGH!)

  • Accessibility Menu Add: The Settings menu is being updated with an Accessibility sub-menu
  • Movie Entity Page – HD Trailer Plays When Available
  • Updated Sports App Notification 
  • Tip Notification: When a customer begins navigating forward or backwards through the On-Screen Guide, a notification appears informing them how to skip ahead or back a full day
  • Sports Subtitle Added to Grid Guide Information: Additional information added to sports entities to provide more detail (e.g. MLB Baseball: Phillies vs. Pirates)
  • Movie Guide View Enhancements
    • Primetime Tonight Row: Displays all movies available after 8:00PM local time
    • Upcoming Row: Displays all movies airing each day for up to 14 days
  • Comcast Labs Updates: Playlists and the RF Signal Indicator have been added to the Comcast Labs page

I don't see an "RF Signal Indicator" but I do see a "Cable Signal Strength" in Comcast Labs..

Something I came across that wasn't on the list. If you go to watch a repeat ( using World Series of Poker as an example) and it's past the start time, you have the option to restart, and the program is pulled automatically from On Demand.

One issue with 1.46.05 or xappl-XRE.46p5.

 

It is 8:21 here in California but when I pause and the progress bar comes up it is Eastern time zone (11:21).  The guide has the correct time though, so hopefully it doesn't mess up the DVR.

I'm in Central time zone (Houston) and my progress bar is on Eastern time.

 

I did a soft reboot using the Settings menu and there was no change.

 

The clock on the DVR corrected itself in a few minutes to be Central time.

 

This "bug" is in the1.45 version, also.

List view is terrible. Bring back the sidebar !! Also my older small tv's resolution is super zoomed in or either a tiny screen in the left hand corner depending on the resolution i pick !! Insane that they would change that. I can't even see the navigation bar on my companion box. Have a technician coming out on tuesday.

Still had to toggle surround to turn it on.

 

Haven't tried to find any changes.

It looks like I got the update on my companion box, but not on my main DVR. I would think it would be the other way around. Does anyone know if theres a way to download the update manually?

If you have the x1 DVR xg1-p you should get the firmware 1.3.4 s3. But you will not get the xre that you are seeing on the other box..yet...At least most have reported that It is not there yet, I think it will go straight to p47 when it arrives..

 

FWIW: the firmware and xre are two different things...The firmware is what is baked into the box. The xre is the HTML5 file that you are viewing on the server.

I got 1.45.07version dated 10/07/2014. At least I think the version says it says '07' ...can't see it clearly. Am I crazy or did the yellow 'A' button used to bring up device settings, preferences, about, help,Labs etc? I could have sworn  alwaysI used that to check the X1 version instead of the gear on the Xfinity button. Now all I get is Help when I press the 'A'. I looked on line and all the X1 remote (I have XR2) say the 'A' is help.

 

Sanity check?

Hi TerriB, it's always been help for me. Although with X1 I need a lot more help than one little button can provide!

How true How true. My hubby also says we could get to other than Help on the Yellow Triangle so we must both need a check up from the neck up.

Our resolutions changed on all our boxes too.   Very same issue you have.  Cannot adj to a decent pic at all.   This is crazy.

Do we call the technician like adammusic22 did?   Does it help??   Need it fixed asap....  What do I do?

Not in HD? Huh? Be careful there guys! I have the little DVR that could! At least 75% of the time anyway!

That is so BIZARRE....   Here is my DILEMMA....

 

My PACE 150 STB NOW has the newest UPDATE... new layout, and the ability to view SIGNAL STRENGTH  ( which is GOOD )......

 

However, in my mind, the most important part of your X1 experience is your MAIN DVR... thr SIGNAL STRENGTH is more important at that box than at any other...   that being said...

 

WHY IS MY XG-1A still sitting on the 9/18/14 revision while the STB is on the NEWEST update ?????????

 

ANd why oh why, do I FORCE a RESTART 4 times a day thiking I will FORCE the update to come down to my DVR ?????

 

I just don't understand the logic on this one....   update the STBs with the latest revision but NOT the MAIN COMPONENT of your system ?????

 

Can anyone shed some light on this one ?????

Ray think about it this way. So with every model box there is a diferent version of the html5 page on the server. My guess is that they load them one at a time for each market. And yes the newer xre can be picked up at different times of the day. all you have to do is  change the res to 480 then back to 720+!!!

I remebered that rick and also tried it..... I am still stuck on the 9/18/14 update on my Arris DVR...

SO frustrating to be LAST picked!!!!

gotpizza I said your userid was PizzaMan on another post today sorry bout that.

with 146.05 have you tried to 'update' (like 480>1080 trick) by manual press of the X1 Power switch (to go into standmy)? The box I use most of the day never came up with 146.05 until today. I always do the 480>1080 first thing in the morning to 'pickup' the other DVR content so it shows on my 'saved' menu. I did not get the update then. But did a reboot on reading this and surprise got moved to 145.06 to 146.05.

I actually tried manually updating mine by restarting it and even unplugging it and it didn't work. I have wondered if there was a way to do it manually and it doesn't seem like there is. I didn't try the power switch, though, but I presume it would be the same.

It turns out I got the update today, but there's one thing I was really hoping for that didn't happen. There's actually a minor change that nobody even mentioned. The closed captioning font is a little bit different. I wonder if that change only happened to the Arris boxes and not the Pace boxes. I know my main DVR is a Pace but I don't know about the other one. Is there a way to tell?

You can edit the Closed Captioned font settings via:  Settings > Device > CC Options

 

You could check the stickers beneath your box to see if it says Pace or Arris.

I see they added ability to select which user to 'use' for going into pandora now. Excellent

 

by the way, I thought I had 3 Blue power button X1s identical. Turns ou the one in the living room (I don't use it and it is concealed) is a greenie pace box. That is the only one hooked up to a sound system and it keeps surround sound 'on' all the time (on samve version on all 3 X1s here now)

It's always been there

first time i've seen it, and I previously suggested ability to have multiple logins. I only registered one account to pandora on comcast. Just tried to 'add' wife's pandora so she could select it but appears to not be an option (2nd/3rd account).

Thank you, but that doesn't help. It seems like the CC on the companion box is a little different, and a little more up to date. For instance, it actually shows the musical notes if people are singing, whereas on the main DVR box it just shows boxes.

I now have Guide release 1.46.05 date 10/07/2014 on my X1 Pace green light DVR and both Cisco RNG150N satellite boxes.
I now have STB version 1.3.4p3s3 date 9/25/2014 on my DVR and STB version 1.3.4p1s7 date 9/26/2014 on both satellite boxes.

One change is the yellow triangle button now brings up the videos sub-section of Settings. The latter is now only acessable via the Xfinity button.

main dvr still has the 9/18 update my compainion now has the 10/7 and thank you for allowing me to turn off the power light.  however i do not like the new settings menu takes to long to get thru the settings now.
