This is what worked for me so far. Keeping fingers crossed that it'll continue. I couldn't find anything that would work under the normal wi-fi settings so I 1) went to settings and put wi-fi in the search bar of settings. 2) tapped on "wi-fi control" and a list of apps popped up 3) went to every xfinity app I have (my account, xfi, etc) and turned off "allow app to control wifi." I keep wifi turned on all the time but I no longer get those f-ing irritating pop-ups! If I want to connect to a wifi I'll do it and if I don't it doesn't do it automatically and it also doesn't turn wifi on and off. I hope this helps others. We just switched back to Comcast after many yrs without them and this was ticking me off so much I was ready to cancel them again!
