This is what Showtime Support wrote me yesterday when I couldn't activate my LG C8 TV for use with Showtime Anytime:
"Thank you for contacting us. Unfortunately, Comcast Xfinity does not currently support Android TV or LG TV. We always appreciate hearing from our subscribers with feedback and suggestions. Your comments have been forwarded to the appropriate parties at SHOWTIME for consideration for future updates. Thanks again for reaching out to us, and thanks as always for watching SHOWTIME."
So LG made the App available for over a year now and Comcast still won't allow WebOS or Android TV to register as a device making high-ends TVs from Sony or LG unable to display Showtime content.
I'm going to open a ticket with Xfinity Support and if the answer is the same then I'm consulting a lawyer, this is ridiculous!

No only that the Xfinity App is not available for LG Smart TVs but I've just installed the Showtime Anytime App and attempted to activate it on my 65" LG C8 TV, guess what, I can't. The error message received is "This device/platform is not supported by your provider!".
So Comcast is not allowing me to see Showtime content on my LG TV even with a valid WebOS App installed. It's not like I'm asking them to provide Xfinity Stream App, I want to use my Showtime subscription that I'm paying for on my +$2000 TV.
Shame on you Comcast/Xfinity, I won't buy a Smasung TV just because you are too lazy to work something with LG and Sony, it should be illegal for you to provide online streaming services to only a few vendors/solutions. This calls for a Class Action suit!
