Hey Guys, here to vent. Was on chats and had one representative tell me that Services did not exist at the address I'm at... funny considering I have Xfinity Service currently... Anyway, got another chatter and was told that a Tech Visit was necessary (in the event that they needed to install... Fibre Optic Lines ha). I don't understand how it is a requirement to have a Technician Rolled out to be able to upgrade to the Gigabit Internet Services... I understand the whole concept of it but all of my signals and etc are all in spec. I live in new Apartment Complexes and have my own DOCSIS 3.1 modem as well. I currently have the 400mbps package and get 500-600mbps on speed tests too. It's just not convenient, $99 for 400mbps vs $104.95 for Gigabit, with the hopes of having my Cable/TV package removed since I don't watch TV. (Currently paying almost $140). I've been a customer of Xfinity for YEARS, a decade and some change... for the first time ever, I am considering cancelling and moving forward with a different service. It's frustrating knowing that a Tech will almost likely not be needed... to what? come into the house and notice i have my own modem and then check my signals and see what I can see at 192.168.1.1? Roll out a Provision File that a regular Representative can do if I just open up a Chat or call Customer Service? Anyway, trying on the forums and if no luck, I'll just cut my losses here and move on. Thanks in advance.
