2. With most audio sync issues, the audio is behind the video. In the case of X1, the audio is often ahead of the video. At least it is on ABC. A vast majority of today's AV products only allow sync adjustments when the audio is behind.
I believe it's just the opposite -- all the video processing at the stations/networks/CATV head ends, etc. add delay to the signal. Audio is relatively simple and just skates through, ahead of the video. But an audio delay is introduced along the way to bring A/V into sync. The delay I'm seeing is: video comes first, audio later, which suggests that Comcast is overcompensating with the audio delay. I've tried to adjust on my setup (new Yamaha), but there is only a "+" audio delay, not a video delay.
