I have experienced the following: 1. Higher data usage than normal in the past month or two without a change in my own habits. 2. Data usage happening when I am not in the country (there is no one else that uses my connection. Would like to ask the community what I can do to fix or what additional info might be needed to troubleshoot. I have changed wifi passwords, and selected a security option in my router to not allow new unrecognized devices to connect.

Go into settings, wifi, select the SSID you're connected to, there should be a settings/advanced option where you can toggle the preferred band you want to connect to.

I would start with some trace routes to see where the lag is coming into play. Typically the first 5-10 hops are going to be CC before it hands off to a transit provider and then to the end systems.
