It is unfortunate Comcast is using this as a profit driver. The technology trend is to more and more connected devices. Fridge, thermostat, security, lights, video game systems, tablets, phones, and many more. Now it is not just about speed, but data. I know ISPs were shutdown on reducing speed for non-comcast streaming services, i.e. Netflix, Hulu. This appears to be Comcasts response. We'll charge you more. The unfortunate part of this is Comcast own streaming app counts against the data total. You can only watch Comcast cable without any negative impact. Verizon learned the hard way about pulling stunts like this and they are scrambling to pick up the pieces. Questions I have are does connecting to an xfinity wifi hot spot count against my data or against the data of the person providing the hot spot. My neighbor has a hot spot, so if I connect to his and he connects to mine can does it count? Too bad Comcast did this, because Imliked the speed for the price, and I even had a cable package. Looks like it is time to move to another ISP that gives me the speeds I want without all of the poor service and games. Goodbye!
