So I followed all the instructions for getting the Peacock Premium App on my X1 TV Box without using the Voice Remote, which I do not have. I got as far as the App Store and hit the Peacock Premium. But instead of putting in an email address as the instructions said would happen, I was directed to Update My Equipment. If I declined the Update, it just took me back to the App choices. Finally I continued with the Update My Equipment and got NOWHERE, except Comcast is now sending me a new box, which I am supposed to install myself. Good luck with that! In the End, I did not get Peacock and instead got a new box, that I do not really care to have. Is this Peacock that is supposedly being offered free to X1 customers some kind of scam?
usually that means your set top box is a very old companion (non-DVR) or first generation DVR. To use internet apps you have to have a box capable of using internet apps, and new set top boxes all come with the voice command remote. No difference in price. is there some particular hardware issue that keeps you from doing a free upgrade?
