I recently was out of town (no internet usage) for almost 30 days crossing two months. Three days after coming back into town I received a 90% of allocation (300GB) usage notification. I was having download speed issues with my 105 MBPS plan and scheduled a service appointment. I insisted that the comcast provided and installed high speed modem/router be replaced to mitigate / isolate the problem. Usage had jumped from roughly 4-5GB per day average over the last few months to over 50GB per day with no changes to my network, installed devices (except for the high speed modem sent by Comcast) or usage and virtually no streaming downloads.
The problem DOES NOT appear to be resolved with the new modem. Usage is still in excess of 25 GB per day with no change in usage. Individual devices (computers, laptops, tablet, and phones) are showing usage at a fraction of what is being accounted for by Comcast!
Any recommendations on how to define what is happening? My end or comcast? Which device? Have recently added Windows 10 to two computers? All devices are protected by Norton.
