I just troubleshot this issue where someone had been printing to their HP printer for a month or two using the XB7, and today it simply didn't appear on the network. The HP was properly connected to wifi, had a legitimate IP address and could be accessed via a web browser, but would not communicate with any Apple products using AirPrint/Bonjour/ZeroConfig. Simple fix - reboot the XB7! I noticed other Bonjour related services like AirPlay, Screen Sharing/File Sharing also would not operate, and after rebooting the gateway everything worked fine. Additionally if you go into the XB7's interface by visiting: 10.0.0.1 and signing in with the default username: admin and the password you've set - or if you haven't yet the default password is: default Once in the XB7, you can visit the Advanced--> Device Discovery. Look around for a feature called "Zero Config" and Enable it. Zero Config is often the name that is used interchangably with Bonjour, and other services like AirPlay/AirPrint on Apple products. Bottom line, first try rebooting your router to get the stuff working before trying anything else.

After installing the XB7, security system did not work, then noticed wireless printers did not work, then smart devices (light switches did not work). Comcast split out the bands to ensure 2.4G devices and connected properly, Comcast then turned off WIFI6, spending hours with Comcast techincal team, then having Comcast push a patch that crashed the gateway and told me to call Motorola support who afer 90 min on hold found out does not even make the gateway, then had to return at the local store (since I no longer had internet), was told call HP 1-2 hours on phone with HP, and they said it must be issues with Comcast, I went back to my old XB3 router and returned XB7 and guess what? Printers work fine! Everyting works fine! I figure I spent two full days in total playing around with this XB7 gateway. Thanks con Comcast for taking so much of my time, being on hold, being hung up on, troubleshooting, trips to and from the Xfinity store...to find out its your issue.

I have the XB7 and same issues with my HP wireless printers and hub for some of my smart home devices. Was on the phone with HP tech support for 45 min no luck then called Comcast, then Comcast just hung up on me after talking for 20 min, no call back, nothing, so called Comcast tech service again they turned off WIFI6 and the smart hub started to work told me the printers will work in 15 min, but they did not work, so called them back and they pushed what I think was firmware and crashed the gateway and could ont get it back on line ! Then told me to call motorola tech support, there was nothing else they could do, i said you just crashed my gateway I have no WIFI and i am supposed to call Motorola ! He then did not answer, like he was on the phone but would not talk or hung up, so I then called Motorola and , I was on the phone on hold with Motorola for 1hr and 15 min they picked up and said we dont make that device, cant help you! So I returned it to the Xfinity store and asked for the XB6 but they did not have it but said they would ship it to me so i reconnected my old personal Aires Surfboard (XB3) and everything is now working. Its the darn XB7 not ready for prime time. Guess what came in the mail ? XB7 not 6! Called Comcast and he we are sorry, said your local store has 6-XB6's in stock, so i drove there and... you got it the guy in the store said we have not had XB6 gateways for over 2 weeks not sure why that told you to come here. This is the most confused company just like it was 10 years ago. My whole neighbor hood switched to another service if i name it here they will lock the post but they wont call me or follow up to resolve the issue go figure !

Been using my own gateway decided to try out the new XB7 and it has been nothing but trouble, smart devices would not connect, tech support turned of WIFI6 and everything started working. Constantally reboots due to many firmware upgrades. HP wireless printers kept going off line, tech support pushed latest patches to XB7 and it crashed the gateway could not get WIFI working so needed to bring to Comcast office for exchange decided I wanted XB6 and they did not have them so installed my own gateway again, and printers now work, no issue with smart home devices. SB7 not ready for prime time.
