I have an Arris Cable Modem model CM820. Do I need to update the driver software for this modem or is that a push that Xfinity does automatically? Thanks for any comments.

An end user can't do it. The Comcast system pushes firmware updates to cable modems automatically. You just may need to power-cycle / re-boot it to help pull it.
Thanks a bunch...that's what I thought and I did do a reboot just in case.
