mb8600 Dynamic Range Window warnings in modem log

I own a Motorola MB8600 modem with the 400mbps download plan and the past month I've had connection issues. I have checked all connections, there are no splitters in use, and retightened the coax but I still get these "dynamic range window" warnings in the modem logs. My internet connection will randomly drop for a couple seconds and then come back online. Occasionally, it will get T3 timeouts and the modem website is no longer accessible so I have to reboot it manually.

I have also tried a factory reset, as well as using the other coax outlet in my home but to no avail.

Gold Problem Solver

Re: mb8600 Dynamic Range Window warnings in modem log

The signal levels and SNRs you posted look OK, but the multiple "Dynamic Range Window" and "Commanded Power in Excess" messages suggest a problem with the connection to Comcast's network.

If you want to troubleshoot this yourself, please see Troubleshooting Gigabit Internet Speeds and Connection Troubleshooting Tips. Loss of Internet service is often due to a poor connection between your equipment and Comcast's network, usually in or near your home.

If you can't find the problem or you'd rather have Comcast do the troubleshooting, call them at the phone number on your bill or 1-800-Comcast, or chat with them using the Internet Support option at https://support.xfinity.com/chat. If they can't fix the problem remotely, insist they send a tech out to identify the cause and correct it.

If the tech finds bad coax, splitters, amplifiers, or connections in your home (even if Comcast originally supplied them) you'll probably have to pay for the visit unless you have their Service Protection Plan (https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/service-protection-plan, closed to customers that don't already have it). If the trouble is due to a faulty Comcast rental device, or anything outside your home, you shouldn't be charged.
