I just upgraded to Netgear CM500V cable modem and my wireless connection works fine on my laptop, but every time I try to connect to my wireless router with any iphone the Xfinity registration popup screen prevents me from connecting the iphone to the wireless network. Is this some error in the provisioning of the modem? Something else?
The CM500V is a straight cable modem with (phone support). There is no WiFi / router component, so it can't have anything to do with your WiFi function. What is the exact make and model number of your router ? Have you tried forgetting the public xfintywifi network broadcast name (SSID) in your iphone's wireless settings and re-learning / associating it with your home network's current WiFi broadcast name (SSID) and your WiFi network's current password / network security key ? And make sure that it is at the top of the list of available networks.
