Some tips for improving WiFi performance;
There are other options. Google for WiFi repeaters / range extenders, WiFi mesh systems / pods.
Everything is the same as when we had the other modem. Only change was going to XB6 Gateway. Everything worked before. Now even my cell loses connection in certain spots in house, never happened before. D/L speeds never get over150.
Do you still have your old WiFi router? Have you tried putting the XB6 into bridge mode and using the older router?
I have a 3rd XB6 coming in the mail and will see by next week if they were able to pull a Technicolor version, if they even exist. If I get another Arris then I'm going to buy my own DOCSIS 3.1 modem for data and another modem for voice and use my existing infrastructure and not be stuck with a crippled piece of gear I have to rent.
Below was written after I went out and picked a modem up...wanted a Motorola but that's in the mail so I'm testing another Arris.
Tried bridging mine with a router and same performance. Now time to tear things apart and try an 8200 I just got.
Was never sent the third modem and glad I ditched the XB6 for a Motorola MB8600 that I've actually hit speeds in the 900Mbs range that I couldn't with the XB6 or even the SB8200 which I also sent away.
May want to think twice about the XB6.
I installed the XB6 yesterday. Everything worked fine except my home theater receiver wouldn't connect because the signal was too weak. I can't control all the speakers if the receiver can't connect. Support told me to run a Ethernet cable to my receiver. I uninstalled it and put in the old Gateway 3 and everything is working. Hard to believe they are sending devices out with less range.
