WiFi Issues

Just had the new xFi put in the other day and for some reason my computer has been acting up. I will be on the computer and one application will lose connecion to the internet and another will still be connected perfectly fine. Im not sure how that is possible but it picks and chooses which application it wants to keep connected. It has been happening ever since i got the xFi, never had an issue before with the old modem. Just ordered the xFi signal extenders im going to give that a shot hopefully that helps. If you have any insight on what could be the problem i would greatly appreciate the help.

One issue may be the distance between the Gateway and the wireless device.
