Unable to connect the internet

I cannot connect to the internet via Ethernet cable. But able to connect via wireless or WiFi . I plug in my wireless router at my modem Ethernet port, not working. My computer diagnosed it says: unidentified network and unidentified IP and no Ethernet cable. Changed 3x different Ethernet cable, not working.

Re: Unable to connect the internet

It’s possible it’s a bad port on your modem or a bad input port on your router. Try to use a device (PC/Laptop) plugged via Ethernet directly to your modem and see what the result is.

Re: Unable to connect the internet

What makes/models modem and router do you have?  You say you can connect via WiFi.  Where is the WiFi signal coming from?  Is your router set for DHCP connection to the network/modem?  Is your router set to assign IP addresses to its ethernet ports via DHCP and is your computer connected set for DHCP IP assignment?
