My speeds slow down quite a bit at night (for the past 2 weeks since I first noticed it). I figured it was something like too many users on a node after everyone gets home from work. Open to suggestions for troubleshooting. Updated firmware on router. Power cycled equipment. Checked the channels in use by other visible networks and set mine to an unique number. There is also residential construction near us, in case anything they are doing/digging up could have caused a problem as well.

Directly connect to the modem via ethernet and test your speeds. (You'll have to reboot the modem.) If your speeds are good, then you can focus on router/networking issues. If the speeds are still bad, you can focus on signal/modem issues.
