Problem with Local IP

Hi all 

I'm using new Xfinity Modem. 

I have change my local IP addresses to the range of 172.16.0.2 to 172.16.0.253, ( 172.16.0.1 using for Admin access). 

the Modem was working fine, then after a one month suddenly the IP changed to 10.0.0.0 range ! I tried to change it back but the Modem hanged up and when I restart it again back to 10.0.0.0 range. I cannot even change it via xFi. 

I really want to know the reason! it's weird.

Try disconnecting the modem from your switch and connecting your computer directly into the modem and then trying to access the modem that way.
