Poor Internet speeds - Xfinity runaround

I have a Blaster! (exclamation point added by Comcast/Xfinity, certainly not my punctuation choice) package, running a Netgear C7100v Nighthawk with the latest firmware and I have a Commscope RF amplifier supporting multiple connections within my house, however, other than my router and the cable box, there are no other devices attached. I am routinely only getting download speeds of 50-70mbps on WiFi and 90 maximum via ethernet connection. I have been told by Xfinity service reps on the phone that the problem is mine because I OWN MY ROUTER and they will do nothing more. I have tested on multiple websites and apps and the only anomaly is the Xfinity speed tests ALWAYS come back slightly faster than the third party tests. I am not seeing any packet loss per my Netgear Utility. Other than banging my head against the wall and throwing away money on the Blaster! (LOL) package, what are my options?
