New sb8200 modem won't connwct

Just bought a Arris sb8200 modem.....it won't connect to Xfinity service....existing rental modem works perfectly fine.....called several times and went through all the steps with the phone people...same issue never resolved...need advice

Is the "Online" indicator light lit steadily ?
