Netgear CM1100 modem sporadically and continuously reboots/loses connection!

This issue actually orginally started with an Xfinity gateway (combined modem/router/phone), it would sporadically reboot.  After a service call, the technician replaced the equipment and validated connections, replaced a splitter at the outside box.  The issue continued with new equipment, had the gateway replaced several more times.  Fast forward several months, I've replaced the gateway with a Netgear CM1100.  It worked flawlessly for several months however consistently only recieved 25Mbps (I pay for 250).  After several calls/hours on the phone with Comcast, they got my speed back to expectations, now I consistenly get 275Mbps downloads, however the reboot issue started occuring with the new modem.  It may go several days or even weeks without issue, then will reboot several times a day, sometimes repeadetly.  Comcast now to says it is hardware issue and call in a ticket to Netgear (even though I had the same issue on their hardware).  They don't seem to "play nice" with other peoples hardware eve though they say it is supported (ie spent hours "re-initializing" and getting my speed correct and had a service call scheduled when a tech called, did something on his end and fixed it with a reboot).  The other technicians continue to say they cant see my modem or that it is not activated, etc.  It is very frustrating, perhaps there is something I can do on my end, ie tweaking my settings, etc.  Below are the statistics immediately following todays reboot:

There is a severe connection problem with the Comcast system. Both the downstream power and the upstream power levels are way out of spec ! That can cause random disconnects, spontaneous re-booting of the modem, speed, and latency problems.

In a self troubleshooting effort to try to obtain better connectivity / more wiggle room, check to see if there are there any excess/unneeded coax cable splitters in the line leading to the modem that can be eliminated/re-configured. Any splitters that remain should be high quality and cable rated for 5-1002 MHz, bi-directional, and no gold colored garbage types like GE, RadioShack, RCA, Philips, Leviton, Magnavox, and Rocketfish from big box stores like Home Depot, Lowes, Target, Wal-Mart etc. Splitters should be swapped with known to be good / new ones to test

If there aren't any unneeded splitters that can be eliminated and if your coax wiring setup can't be reconfigured so that there is a single two way splitter connected directly off of the drop from the street/pole with one port feeding the modem and the other port feeding the rest of the house/equipment with additional splits as needed, and you've checked all the wiring and fittings for integrity and tightness and refresh them by taking them apart then check for and clean off any corrosion / oxidation on the center wire and put them back together again, then perhaps it's best to book a tech visit to investigate and correct.

I'll reconfigure, however do you know of or can you recomend a reasonable coax cable tester, and can you provide what the power level specs should be or any other specs?  You mention don't get a splitter from a big box store, can you recomend an alternative?  The cable technician installed a red label "CommScope" 5-1002 Mgz splitter, is this a good product to target?

Yes. That is a very good splitter and it should be o/k unless it's malfunctioning.

Adding to EG, your modem is probably the best tester. If you can, hook up your modem up to a spot before splitters to give yourself a comparison of inside vs. outside

Re: Netgear CM1100 modem sporadically and continuously reboots/loses connection!

Thanks all for your input, I've moved my modem to a different line, it still has 2 splitters in between (comcast technician installed).  Let me know if these numbers look better.  I've compared them to the links provided and they look OK, however since I don't have experience looking at this information, I'm not entirely sure my assessment is correct.  Considering this a Netgear modem and not an Xfinity provided gateway, will the information be the same?  I'm also curious why some channels are "not locked".   Thanks in advance.

That's much better ! The downstreams are a little on the weak side, but are in spec, as are the upstreams. The reason you don't see anymore upstreams being locked is because Comcast currently only offers 3 or 4 upstreams. They also currently do not offer any DOCSIS 3.1 / OFDM upstream channels. And only 31 downstream channels appear to be available / configured on your local CMTS / system. It's all normal.
