Netgear CM100 1AZNA S Modem - Random Connection Drops

I have searched through the forums the last few days and gone through all relative trouble shooting steps, reviewed videos, and have called Comcast.  Comcast tells me everything is fine from their end - same as the tests from Xfinity my acoount and my account app.  No network outages reported.  The modem stays connected to the Internet sometimes for hours, sometimes only 5 or 10 minutes.  I have disconnected every smart device in the house and then one by one reconnected with no issues.  I asked the Comcast person on the phone if she could reprovision the modem, and she did not seem to understand my request or know how to go about this.  Powercycling the modem works for a while, and sometimes not.  When connect speed is not an issue and steadily above 150 Mbps.  I have also tried rebooting the router only - also Netgear - R8000.  Cable to the modem is directly from the wall to the modem.  Outdoor connection is on the oppostie side of the house - has been so since it was built in 2006 and used soley for Internet service for about 8 years.  Other coax connectors in the house are powered for satelite tv.  I'm at my whits end and am wondering now if I have faulty equipmentthat needs to be replaced.  The Internet connection dropping only started more frequently after upgrading service to 150 and adding the Netgear modem.  Any insights someone could add would be greatly appreciated!

The downstream power and the SNR's are way out of spec ! That can cause random disconnects, spontaneous re-booting of the modem, and speed and latency problems.

In a self troubleshooting effort to try to obtain better connectivity / more wiggle room, check to see if there are there any excess/unneeded coax cable splitters in the line leading to the modem that can be eliminated/re-configured. Any splitters that remain should be high quality and cable rated for 5-1002 MHz, bi-directional, and no gold colored garbage types like GE, RadioShack, RCA, Philips, Leviton, Magnavox, and Rocketfish from big box stores like Home Depot, Lowes, Target, Wal-Mart etc. Splitters should be swapped with known to be good / new ones to test

If there aren't any unneeded splitters that can be eliminated and if your coax wiring setup can't be reconfigured so that there is a single two way splitter connected directly off of the drop from the street/pole with one port feeding the modem and the other port feeding the rest of the house/equipment with additional splits as needed, and you've checked all the wiring and fittings for integrity and tightness and refresh them by taking them apart then check for and clean off any corrosion / oxidation on the center wire and put them back together again, then perhaps it's best to book a tech visit to investigate and correct.

Hi! I've been having the same issues with the same modem (DOCSIS 3.1), the data on yours is similar to mine. I posted my pictures recently and EG and ComcastElla, check them out, you might want to compare them with yours, look for  brenam77. I have the tier 400Mbps with Comcast. Also, I was asking for an opinion on the Arris Surfboard SB8200 DOCSIS 3.1, but didn't get an answer, so I bought it, is coming tomorrow, hope this will fix it.

Possibly. But if a line / connection quality problem is present, it will still be there no matter what modem is used. FWIW, some models of modems are more tolerant of less than stellar conditions than are others. Good luck with it.
