My MODEM needs rebooted daily for past 2 weeks

Lately, my network goes down daily and I have to reboot my MODEM or sometimes it reconnects only after I reboot my laptop. I called for technical assistance and was cautioned not to connect too many devices...this just started happening around 2-3 weeks ago. I have 2 laptops and a cell phone connected and no one else is using it in my house. Something is amiss.

Are these WiFi connections ? If so, for a test, does a computer hardwired directly to the router / gateway device with an ethernet cable have the same problem ?
