Modem changed IP?

Modem changed IP?

Hello,

Have noticed that my modem's gateway IP changed from 192.168.1.x to 10.0.0.x.   Didn't cause me any issues but am wondering if this was a known change that they announced?

Thanks.

Re: Modem changed IP?

I think the 10.0.x.x  IP is common with most of Xfinity's Modems, as long as you're able to access your modem and work on it's setting you should be alright

Re: Modem changed IP?

Have you recently changed the gateway device from being in bridge mode to being in router mode ?

Re: Modem changed IP?

I know it is a common one. I am curious to now if they may be changing to it. Say with an update and power-cycle to make it standard across their customer base.

No, I have not made changes. I do run a firewall between my network and the modem but have kept the modem in router mode.

Hello tweeternh. We have not announced any specific IP changes. May I ask which Gateway model you are using?
