Lose WiFi when landline phone in use

Lose WiFi when landline phone in use

When browsing on the internet, if my wife starts using the landline phone at the same time, I will lose WiFi connection.  This happens immediately when she either calls on the phone or answers the phone when I am on the internet.  Does anyone else have this problem.  It is really getting annoying.

Sounds like your phone and router are broadcasting in the same frequency range. Log into your router and change the WI-FI channel or change the channel on the phone if it has that feature.

Have you tried the suggestion that was given by

Re: Lose WiFi when landline phone in use

Is the phone using 2.4GHz?  On the next phone, you might want to look at other options.  For example I just entered "cordless phone" into a well-known online shopping site and everything on the first page was a DECT phone on 1.9GHz.  Just an idea in case you have neighbors close by and 2.4GHz is crowded.

Thanks nerdburg!  That was the problem and I had to change the channel on my router.

Thanks strega7.  It is a 2.4 mHZ.  May be time for a new phone.
