Internet loss 10x/day(!) and event logs filled with "erouter0 got new IP xx.xx.xx.xx"

Can someone please help. My internet keeps dropping at least once an hour for several minutes at a time.

According to the event logs on the Cisco DPC3941T, I'm getting mostly these (which correlate with the outages):

[Dhcpc][2380]: erouter0 got new IP xx.xx.xx.xx 2017/12/13 01:15:46 Notice
[Dhcpc][19686]: erouter0 got new IP xx.xx.xx.xx 2017/12/12 23:32:54 Notice
[Dhcpc][13867]: erouter0 got new IP xx.xx.xx.xx 2017/12/12 23:01:16 Notice
[Dhcpc][1462]: erouter0 got new IP xx.xx.xx.xx 2017/12/12 21:37:11 Notice

and some of these:

[Docsis][935]: Received Response to Broadcast Maintenance Request, But no Unicast Maintenance opportunities received - T4 time out 2017/12/11 09:49:07 Critical

Hello gasongasoff, I am happy to look into this for you. Can you please send me a private message with your full address, account number, and the name on the account by clicking my name (ComcastAmir) and then clicking "private message me"?

What resolution did you find @?  This is exactly what has been happening to me over the last 48 hours (20-25+ outages)

This is maddening. Can't a resolution be posted here? I'm having the same issue. Internet drops for about 3-5 minutes intermittenly. I don't do anything to resolve it. Access just continues after a few minutes. Using XB3 in bridge mode. Engenius router to which desktop computers are connected via ethernet cables (CAT 5e). The router log shows no errors.

After a week of these micro-outages, comcast rolled a technician to my house today.   Several other posts mention issues with wiring (squirrel chewed the coax, etc), so a typical cause of this itermittent drop seems to be phyical issues with the wiring.

Matt was great and did testing on the three segments of the coax

  • curbside to junction box on the outside of the house
  • junction box to my structured wiring center
  • structured wiring center to the modem

The inground line looked good, but termination of the cable at the outside box didn't look great (some metal shavings from the braiding and the center pin being too long in his mind).  He redid that plug. We've also had temperatures between -15 F to 30 F in the last few weeks, so easy enough for expand and contract to turn an issue into a problem.

Also, there was an inline signal applifier was installed by a previous Comcast technician.  Based on the size of the house, the number of TV runs branches (the main x1 hub, plus two other boxes) and strong signal strength from outside, he made the decision to remove the inline amplier in case that was causing the issue.

He left about an hour ago.  If I don't see anymore of these micro-outages in the next 48 hours, then one of those two was likely the culprit.
