Internet connection

Periodically, I've noticed browsing from my phone is very slow. Every once in a while Outlook fails to connect on a new laptop. And I've noticed my older (but very powerful) laptop takes MINUTES to connect to a website.

 

This morning I tried an experiment. I restarted my gateway. Suddenly NO issues on any device.

 

I have the Cisco DPC3941T gateway. Any ideas what might be going on here? Are there recommended settings for this device? Is there a way to update firmware on this device? Would I be better off updating to a newer gateway?

Are these WiFi connections ? If so, for a test, does a computer / device hardwired directly to the router / gateway device with an ethernet cable have the same problem ?

 

What do the modem's signal stats look like ? Try getting them here http://192.168.100.1 or here http://10.0.0.1

Please post the *Downstream Power Level*, the *Upstream Power Level*, and the *SNR* (Signal to Noise Ratio) numbers.
