We had what seemed to be a power surge last week. The Xfinity modem was plugged directly into the wall, and was disrupted by the power surge which restarted the device. At that point WiFi no longer worked on our connected devices, although the devices continued to "connect" to the modem. After troubleshooting - restarting the modem, hard-reset, contacting Xfinity Assistant - I got ahold of an agent over the phone. After troubleshooting the device on their end, the agent could see no issues. He advised that the power surge could have damaged the modem and instructed me to go to the Comcast store to exchange the modem. I did this, and set up the new modem using the xFi app. At first, the WiFi worked on our devices. After about 24 hours, the same issue is occuring as with the original modem and we are again left without WiFi capabilities.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue? Any suggestions? Thank you.
