I have a Comcast TG862G Cable Modem used in our home network.
In our basement we have an Xbox One connected to the network. When I check the DNS network settings on the Xbox One, they are showing as IPv6 entries. This is not allowing me to connect to NFL Game Cast.
I need to disable IPv6 on the Comcast Modem in order to get IPv4 DNS settings on the Xbox One.
Is there a place in the cable modem where I can disable IPv6?
It doesn't appear that there is an option to disable ipv6 in the gateways. The only way I see it possible to disable ipv6 is either do it on your 3rd party router if you are using one. I you just have the gateway and no seperate router then you will have to disable ipv6 in the Xbox itself.
i don't think Xbox One has a way to disable IPv6,
I checked every setting ..
i have a Netgear Dual Band wireless router that I used prior to getting the new Comcast Cable modem that has the built in wireless,,but don't know if it had an option to disable IPv6
it is currently not connected.
i am not sure of th steps to do this. i assume I would need to add it between the Xbox One and the Comcast Modem
I too am getting intermittent IPv4 connection with my new router ARRIS TG1682G but require strict IPv4 for my smart devices and network extender to connect. Does anyone know how I can enable strict IPv4 with this new model?
