How can I recover the USERNAME and PASSWORD of the xfinity gateway login address

One of my family member must have changed the login info. And, why do they give out a universal usernam and pw out on this device when we have a secured Network Name and PW made out already. Is there a way to reset the user and pw on this and, or, Can I retrieve the usernam and pw?
