Got Gigabit... Need XB6?

Hi all,

I recently upgraded to gigabit and realized that my current XB3 modem/router is DOCSIS3.0 and not DOCSIS3.1. How can I get a XB6? My local store doesn't know.

Did a technician do an install?  If they did, it is their responsibility to install the XB6.  I'm transferring this thread to the Home Network because it is not an xFi issue.

They did not - I got a self install kit.

I don't have gigabit but I do have the XB6.  I checked to see if D3.1 was available in my market first (Houston).

 

Then I called 1800comcast and scheduled an installation.  I was charged $40.

I assume you already did this.  

You don't have to rent an XB6  - you can purchase a D3.1 Comcast retail modem.
