Extremely Slow Download Speeds

I don't know what to do at this point. I have contacted Comcast multiple times. I've had a tech out and nothing. I have gigabit internet and a lot of times I'm getting download speeds in the 60-90mbps range. At one point they ran a new line to the house that fixed it for a few weeks and then it was back to slow as can be. 

 

I have a Arris T25 modem and I'm getting errors such as the ones listed below OFTEN. At this point, I am beyond frustrated with Comcast's level of service and being able to provide an answer as to why this is so poor. 

 

CM-STATUS message sent. Event Type Code: 5; Chan ID: 2; DSID: N/A; MAC Addr: N/A; OFDM/OFDMA Profile ID: N/A.;CM-MAC=14:c0:3e:11:66:15;CMTS-MAC=**:**:**:**:**:**;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.1;

 

Lost MDD Timeout;CM-MAC=14:c0:3e:11:66:15;CMTS-MAC=**:**:**:**:**:**;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.1;

 

This is repeated like every 10 min or so. Someone PLEASE help!!!!

Please also post the *Downstream Power Level*, the *Upstream Power Level*, and the *SNR* (Signal to Noise Ratio) numbers.

Is there a way for me to attach a screen shot? Also, here's something interesting.... my public IP address is showing up in Salem VA which is almost 200 miles from where I live.

The signal stats are o/k but there are a fair amount of uncorrectable bit errors.

 

As far as your public IP address goes, you likely recently received a new / different WAN (public) IP address assignment to your connection from their DHCP server / IP address pool, and the rDNS / geolocation data that is associated with it is now incorrect for you as it previously belonged to someone else that lived in that area. Comcast shuffles blocks of IP addresses around the country all the time. ISP's don't correct this. A third party service does. Unfortunately, this is typically a *back-burner* thing to get corrected. The only thing that you can do is to report it. You can try this;

https://www.home.neustar/contact-us

https://support.google.com/websearch/contact/ip/

Wait for the geolocation provider to approve your request. If your request is approved, the amount of time it takes to see the correction varies by provider. The average is a month or more.
