Crazy IPv6 pings and routing to google.com from Chicago

I'm in the Chicago area and sometimes ping google.com to check on any connectivity issues. I typically get 11-13ms for both IPv4 and IPv6. Starting Friday (7/31/20), my IPv6 times suddenly were weird. They were consistent, but often very high. IPv4 was normal. After doing a traceroute, it seems as if Comcast is routing IPv6 google.com through Pittsburgh and even Ashburn, VA! I can ping various other sites that return IPv6, and they show normal ping times, typically 11ms if they have a Chicago-based CDN.

Re: Crazy IPv6 pings and routing to google.com from Chicago

This is a bit weird. A reply to a post I made on another forum had somebody from nearby Rockford mention they had the same problem. They rebooted their router, and it fixed it. So I tried that, and it fixed it, for awhile. Now it's acting up again.

And today, it's pinging normally for some reason. No change made on this end.
