Connection Dropping 10x-12x a day - 16 consecutive T3 timeouts while trying to range on upstream

 Modem: Motorola MB7420

Router: Ubiquiti Unifi Security Gateway

Switch: TP-Link 8port blahblahblah

Access Point: Unifi AP-Lite

All tests were run from the router interface touching the modem itself.

I've been trying to track down why my connection has been dropping at the worst times every day. It looks like the Modem is having issues with the upstream signal ranging.

These are the ones that I have in the current modem log:

Tue Feb 20 12:42:38 2018 Critical (3) No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out;CM-MAC=00:40:36:4...

Tue Feb 20 14:04:22 2018 Critical (3) No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out;CM-MAC=00:40:36:4...

Tue Feb 20 14:16:00 2018 Critical (3) No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out;CM-MAC=00:40:36:4...

Tue Feb 20 14:52:52 2018 Critical (3) No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out;CM-MAC=00:40:36:4...

Tue Feb 20 20:27:09 2018    Critical (3)   16 consecutive T3 timeouts while trying to range on upstream..

Ping/Traceroute while the drop is happening:

Tue Feb 20 18:09:31 EST 2018
From 68.33.113.xxx icmp_seq=4 Destination Host Unreachable

traceroute 8.8.8.8

The levels actually look OK, but there is a powered splitter where the cable line comes into the house that may be giving false positives.

Any ideas? Last tech to come out and do the install said the levels looked fantastic. So not sure if any others will see it differently.
