I just bought an HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 printer. I'm having issues printing over wifi. I contacted HP support and they said I need to change the router channel to 11 and "disable HP UPN", whatever that means.
I contacted Xfinity support and they said they can't disable HP UPN because it's a 3rd party network and they don't have control over it.
So, I don't know what to do to get this printer to work. Any ideas?
"Having issues printing over wifi" doesn't tell us much. What problems are you having exactly? What happens when you try to print? Any error messages? The more details you can provide, the better.
I was not able to find any references to "HP UPN", so can't help with that.
Just got a new Xfinity router. My HP 8620 printer now goes into energy saver mode after 5, 10, or 15 minutes. there is no option to turn it off. You must wake it with then power button then power cycle again for it to be found on the network. It works great until it takes another nap. If you send a print job while it is unconscious the job is stored in the buffer until the printer comes out of its coma. Then it prints your job. Did not happen before the new router. Thoughts?
Just curious if you discovered a solution for this. I am having the exact same problem. It started when we got upgraded to the XB7. I've tried everything. Today I went and got a new XB7 modem thinking maybe it was a hardware issue -- nope, same problems. Devices within the network are unable to communicate with each other, especially printers.
the simple answer is yes but it's more complicated. Not really sure what I did. The first thing I did was plug my printer into a power strip by itself. That way when the printer went to sleep I could wake it up without unplugging. I reloaded drivers, deleted the printer, cussed A LOT! You can't turn off the sleep mode. Played with the settings that are available and messed with the times for sleep and wake up. Nothing helped. I quit and went to bed. The next morning it worked fine and has worked ever since. Prior to all this did your printer take a nap 5 or so minutes after completing a print job? Mine did not. Now it works exactly as advertised. I'm sorry but I don't know what to tell you. Keep dinking and hoping. I'm looking for my notes. If I find them I'll repost. Don't call my nephew. He couldn't figure it out either.
