Hi, I have a netgear AC1750 WiFi cable modem router. Everything has been working flawlessly for 3 year when all of a sudden I can no longer load any IPv4 websites. The only sites I can access are google/YouTube. I called xfinity rep and spoke to them but all they tried to do was reset my modem and this didn’t fix it.

@Genkii8, see if you can reach the following site:

http://portquiz.net:81

Let me know if that works or not. If it does not work, send me a private message with your HFC MAC ( may also be called CM MAC).

Arris modem MAC ID incorrect and no internet
I’m dying here!! Arris modem SBG7580-AC MAC address entered wrong then manually fixed but still no internet connection. According to what I read I need an expert to fix the backend server to fix IPB4 issue. Cannot get this fixed as I have made calls to Comcast for two days

@ComcastJohnN

Technician has setup my internet last week with wrong MAC address. Today, another technician setup the correct MAC address. Now I can only access google and youtube. IPv4 does not have intenet connection. Can you please help fixing this issue?

How to send you private message with the correct MAC address?

Re: No IPv4, only IPv6 (Arris SBG6950AC2)

Greetings,

I am a first-time Xfinity user who just signed up for new Internet service. After a few initial issues and finally getting a new drop line, my modem was connected and I *thought* I was up and running.

However, like others in this thread I have been unable to access any sites other than google, YouTube, etc. After spending nearly 6 straight hours on the phone between Comcast support, Netgear support and a conference call with both, the issue still persists with no one seemingly able to resolve the problem, which led me to this thread.

I am using a brand new Netgear C6300. I activated this modem with Comcast by phone before the modem was up and running and connected to Comcast's system. At that time I made the mistake of giving them an incorrect MAC address. This was supposedly corrected in a subsequent support call, but I can't help to think this is part of the problem.

After many hours of phone tech support and chat, I am still unable to pull up any IPv4 sites.

When I open up my ethernet properties it specifically says I have "no Internet access" under the IPv4 status, but the IPv6 seems fine.

It sounds like @ComcastJohnN might be my only hope at this point. I did look at his profile page but have been unable to figure out how to send a PM, so hopefully he or someone who can assist will see this and instruct me on sending a PM to him so I can get this resolved as soon as possible.

(I have visited @ComcastJohnN profile page, but have not yet figured out how to send any PM...perhaps as I have not yet posted in the forum before).

Thanks to anyone in advance for the assistance...I'm quite desperate at this point.

Re: No IPv4, only IPv6 (Arris SBG6950AC2)

EG, thanks for answering.

I did in fact get in touch with ComcastJohnN as it PM'd me.

Oddly enough though, that "Message Me" button was definitely not available or showing when I looked at his profile...perhaps because I had never posted before?

Anyhow, I did reach him and believe we have a dialog going. Thanks for the follow up.

(I'll recheck the profile to see if I see that "Message Me" button now though).

O/k. I'm not certain but he may have had to enable / allow you to send him a PM in the first place. Good luck !

I would just like to say my problem is resolved, and @ComcastJohnN is my hero.

Like I told him, it's amazing that he was able to resolve something via PMs in about 15 minutes what six hours of phone support with Comcast and Netgear could not.

I am so extermely appreciative of the assistance and look forward to enjoying my new Internet.

Maybe you can't see the "Send a message" link on the right side of the view you get when you click on his name.  Here is an example I captured of someone's link:

Hi @thedavis5

If you are a new user, you may not be able to PM employees directly. If you can't send a PM then tag @ComcastJohnN <-like that. He'll get a message that you tagged him.

Can only connect to certain websites

So I been searching for answers online, asking all my tech friends, and have already spoken to a Comcast representative, and had received no actual help to no avail.

CSR gave me the run around to call Arris thinking it's a firewall issue that I can only access ipv6 websites and not ipv4. I'm seeing this is a common problem!

CSR could only reset a signal, and help me out with the most basic troubleshooting, and since I can connect to YouTube they said it's not a problem on their end. But I concur! I can only access ipv6 websites and not ipv4.

Someone please help me! Please and thank you!

@ComcastJohnN

I looked for a way to PM but did not see the "send message" on your profile (this is a new account).

Like all the folks in this thread I am also having the IPv4\6 issue where I only have partial internet access.

I'd be happy to provide whatever information I can! I have an ARRIS SBG7400AC2.

Hope to hear back!

Hello,

I believe I am having the same problem using an Arris SBG6400.  The internet was activated on Friday 10/5 and when I ran a IPv4 and IPv6 test online it showed only IPv6 sites were going through.  I would appreciate any assistance!  Thank you!!

Re: No IPv4, only IPv6 (Arris SBG7580-AC

Good evening, I have the same issue. Wrong Mac address given at provisioning now no IPv4. Tier 2 told me it's because Comcast does not support IPv4 any more and tried to dismiss me. I would not let him off the hook that easily though, so they put me on hold, then said they would call me back. This seems like such a common issue I don't see how they aren't trained to identify and remedy this situation. Can I please get this fixed by someone who actually knows what's going on. Its been almost 3 days. Thanks so much!

Re: No IPv4, only IPv6 (Arris SBG6950AC2)

Im having the same issue where the wrong Mac address was given at sign up Wan instead of HFC

so I can only access IPv6 sites. (except if I do a factory reset, I can access any site for about a minute)

Just spent a few hours on phone with customer service who tell me to call Arris

I know it's not advised but here's my Mac address:  *********EDCC1

edit: obscured Mac Address and sent a PM (note: it was frustrating not being able to send a PM, you cant send one until you make at least 1 post)

Arris SBG7580-AC Connection Problems - Calling @ComcastJohnN

@ComcastJohnN I was directed to you by Louise at Xfinity Support out of Knoxville, TN after she was unable to resolve my issue. Like many other posters to the community forum, I have an Arris Surfboard SBG7580-AC gateway that I am unable to connect to the internet reliably. The device has been provisioned with its HFC MAC ID and I have checked through the router's admin that IP filtering is not enabled. Like other forum posters, I can access IPv6 sites (Google, Facebook, Apple) but cannot access IPv4 sites. Can you or anyone else on this forum provide assistance? Thanks in advance for your help.

Only able to access some sites

Hi, suddenly from today 10.30 I’m only able to access some websites (google, Facebook, Netflix) but not the vast majority. Seems like I have similar issue with previous posts: https://forums.xfinity.com/t5/Internet-Archive/Can-only-get-to-certain-websites/td-p/3075109

Xfinity phone support didn’t do much except for reset the modem a couple of times which didn’t help. Can anyone help out?

No Access to IPv4 with TP-LINK Archer CR700

I recently signed up for Comcast internet, but bought a certified Xfinity modem (TP-LINK Archer CR700) rather than renting one from Comcast. A technician came out to set up my service, and, while he was there, I checked to see if I could log onto my Gmail account, which I had no issue doing. However, after he had left, I attempted to go to some of my banking websites and continued to come across the issue that the sites could not be reached. Certain websites (Google/YouTube/Facebook/LinkedIn/Netflix) I have no problem accessing, but others (Robinhood/Wells Fargo/Xfinity/ESPN) I continue to get a time out error. I also tried using my phone while connected to the WiFi, but none of my apps that require internet will refresh/load. Poking around online (using phone data rather than WiFi), I found some information where others were experiencing a similar issue. I finally logged in as admin into my local IP address (192.168.1.1) and found that under my IPv4, my IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, Primary DNS, and Secondary DNS were all listed as N/A. I believe this is the root problem, but I am unsure why. I've called both TP-LINK and Comcast technical support and both have blamed the other for the issue, so I'm currently at a loss. My last resort is using this post to @ComcastJohnN in the hopes he sees this and knows how to fix it. Thanks in advance for any additional help.
